Getting started
Get started with Dataplace
Dataplace is the digital platform to find Australian Government data and to manage data sharing requests and agreements.
The platform brings together those wanting access to Australian Government data (such as researchers and those working on public policy and delivering public services) with Commonwealth agencies who are the data custodians. The platform is also used by the National Data Commissioner to regulate the DATA Scheme.
You can use Dataplace to:
- find data using the Australian Government Data Catalogue (AGDC)
- apply for accreditation to be a data user or data service provider under the DATA Scheme
- request data, both under the DATA Scheme or through other legislative mechanisms
- draft agreements including non-Scheme (general) or DATA Scheme data sharing agreements, or other agreement types,
- record existing agreements in a central location, regardless of agreement type or authorising pathway,
- centrally manage your organisation’s data asset meta data for both internal and external publishing to the AGDC and
- monitor and report on your data sharing activities.
You can find out more about Dataplace, including how to onboard your organisation, by visiting Dataplace.
