The role of Accredited Data Service Providers in the DATA Scheme
Accredited Data Service Providers can play an important role in facilitating successful data sharing and appropriate use of public sector data. They can provide technical skills and capabilities that a Data Custodian or Accredited User may not have, reducing risks identified with data sharing projects and ensuring sharing is safe and efficient.
Under the Data Availability and Transparency Act 2022 (the Act), certain intermediary services must be performed by an Accredited Data Service Provider (ADSP).
Who can provide data services under the DATA Scheme?
Australian, state and territory government bodies and Australian Universities can provide data services under the DATA Scheme once they have become accredited.
